Description
Blue tits are one of the most regular visitors to our garden, often spending most of the day flying back and forth to our feeders. In nesting season they are especially busy collecting materials to make their nests. This year, we bought a bag of raw wool and hung it out for birds to collect, but our resident blue tit was far more interested in the twine my wife had used to tie some garden canes together to make a support for her sweet peas.
She would hang onto the string and pull strands off it with great enthusiasm. In the end we tied extra string onto branches and fence posts to make sure she had as much as she needed. I hope her nest was very comfy!
Framed or Unframed
Choose framed at checkout and it arrives ready to hang. The frame is natural ayous, a pale, lightweight hardwood, with a 7mm face and 21mm depth. The panel sits inside it with a 5mm gap all round, so the painted edge of the panel stays visible and the picture floats inside the frame rather than sitting flush against it. That adds about 12mm to each side. A flush mount is already fitted to the back for hanging.
If you would rather choose your own framing, buy it unframed. For advice please refer to How to Frame a Painting on a Panel.
