I’ve got into a bad habit of relying on Instagram for sharing new paintings, but I realise not everyone is on there, so I thought I’d share some recent work here…

“Golden Slumbers” 24×30 cm Oils on linen panel.

I can’t go for too long without painting Luna, our annoying but beloved Jackapoo. Here she is sleeping in her favourite chair, restoring her energy so she can protect us from the postman, or the neighbours, or basically anyone who makes the slightest noise outside! This painting is available to buy.

“Hood” – Oils on panel 16×12 inches

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this painting had been awarded first prize in October’s monthly contest over at dailypaintworks.com

I’m not especially motivated by prizes/awards, but I can’t deny it feels nice to have my paintings recognised and appreciated! This painting is available to buy.

“Knight” Oils on panel 20×16 inches

This is the largest portrait I’ve painted for a long time, possibly ever. It was a challenge painting much bigger than usual, but I’m happy with how it turned out. This painting is available to buy.

“Derren Brown” – Oils on panel 24x30cm

This is a portrait of Derren Brown, who is a talented artist as well as an incredible psychological illusionist. I’ve been a big fan throughout his career, having been to most of his shows, and even ending up on stage at the most recent one!

I painted a caricature of Derren in acrylics about 10 years ago, and I had been meaning to paint a new portrait of him for quite a while. Check my Instagram to see the old caricature alongside the new portrait.

This painting is available, but not currently listed in my store. Please get in touch if you’re interested in buying it.

I’ve been painting with the ‘Zorn palette’ a lot recently. I’ll post more about that soon, along with some of the paintings, but check out my Instagram if you want to see some of those.

All of my available artwork can currently be found on my Daily Paintworks page, (although I’m in the process of moving my store onto this website.)

Until next time… stay safe!
